The Arab spring of 2011 took the Muslim world by storm. Many regimes and dictators have fallen due to the mounting public opinion against them. In many cases this public opinion has been further supported by Western governments either through diplomatic or military means. However this has not been the case in Syria where the people have mounted against a regime which will stubbornly not fall.
