The Quraish continued the character assassination of the Prophet Muhammad (saw) and quickly determined that this tactic was not working to stop the call to Islam.
The believers were then subjected to punishment such as brutal beatings followed by deprivation of food and water but they persevered with sab’r (patience) and continued to act according to the commands of Allah (swt).
This period in the Seerah is a lesson and reminder for Muslims about the importance of following the commandments of Allah(swt) even under the harsh realities of today.
