Through the efforts of Mus’ab (ra) in the thirteenth year of the Prophethood, over seventy converts from Madinah came to perform the rituals of pilgrimage in Makkah. Shortly after arrival, they conducted clandestine contacts with the Prophet (saw) and agreed to meet him (saw) at Al-‘Aqabah secretly at night in days of Tashreeq.
